Girls Night

This evening my friends and I decided to meet up and have a couple of cocktails. One of the girls was telling us about a great sale that Dillard’s was having where everything was 65% off and so we decided to do some retail therapy. It was fun looking at all of the different shoes that and catching some really great deals. Everyone was able to walk away with a couple of pairs of shoes and I lucked up and found three pairs (score for me). Grant it, we were all hundreds of miles away and from one another physically, and the retail therapy was all online shopping, but the laughs and emotional connection was much needed.

If this is our new normal, then we will adapt, but it doesn’t mean that we have to completely give up kicking it with your girls or getting in a little shoe shopping in just for fun. We all had a trip scheduled last month which of course got cancelled and since we do not know when we will be able to physically be in the same space, we will find other ways to connect. Marco Polo, House Party, Duo or whatever the social media platform, we will find ways to stay connected to those people in our lives that matter the most.

I know that I look forward to the day when I am able to put on a cute dress or some jeans with a cute heel, maybe a little bit of make-up and go out to listen to some live music, visit a restaurant, or basically anything where we can mingle with people. I know that time is coming, but until then, I will continue to social distance and stay home.
