The thing that I most enjoy about empty nesting is that your weekends belong to you. No longer am I having to juggle someone else’s calendar and activities. This weekend I had the opportunity to hit a few cool places and listen to some pretty good music.
My first stop was the Dark Room to check out Be.Be and Neo Soul. I had heard this up and coming local band once before and wanted to hear them again. They did not disappoint … at all! Be.Be covers a variety of genres of music and is sure to play something that you can bob your head to. I would encourage you to check out the Dark Room to hear this up and coming artist and her super talented band.
My next stop was Augusta Winery in Augusta, MO. I went for a wine tasting and tried a variety of different wines. I like this winery, because it has an intimate feel to it, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable about their wines. I find this most helpful when trying out new wines.
My final stop was Montelle Winery in Augusta, MO. They are situated on a hidden hilltop and offer a breathtaking view of the Missouri River Valley. They have a huge deck and patio area and offer live music, pizza, salads, and of course wine tasting.
High Velocity featuring Sean Holland Band were playing yesterday and they were bringing it! I enjoyed polishing off a bottle Vignoles as my husband and I bobbed our heads to the grooves that High Velocity belted out. I will definitely be going back in the near future to stock up on more wine and to take in that amazing view one more time!
