Most people have a preference between coffee or tea; I personally prefer hot tea. This weekend I visited Mary Ann’s Tea Room located in the Central West End in St. Louis for Afternoon Tea. Now I do enjoy a good cup of tea, and Mary Ann’s Tea Room did not disappoint. From the white table linens, the beautiful china, and the light three course meal, the table was decorated beautifully.
Apparently there is a difference between Afternoon Tea and High Tea. Afternoon Tea consists of a very light meal of scones, finger sandwiches, and fruit & desserts. Mary Ann’s served the three courses along with jam and lemon curd. I chose the rose and vanilla tea, and it was delicious! I have been looking forward to having Afternoon Tea in London, England while I am there for vacation in a few weeks. Now that I have had a taste of what Afternoon Tea is, I can’t wait to try it in London.
I enjoy trying new and different things and can’t wait to tackle my 50 things list. Until next time–
I love high tea! I can’t wait to hear how they do it In London!
I have a feeling it will be very similar to our tea yesterday. Although,I think they refer to it as just afternoon tea. I can't wait to find out for sure though!
